Hoge Venen - Eifel

I surprised Joost for a weekend in nature: we went to the Hoge Venen - Eifel. Monschau is a really nice little village. It reminded us of Rovereto. We went for a long hike and I got injected by a wasp, luckily I discovered that I am not allergic. On the last day, we took a boat trip back and forth - twice, as it was really beautiful weather!

Ghent Festival - Gentse Feesten 2011

For a little holiday we went to Ghent, to the yearly 10-days festival (a bit rainy though).
Not many pictures, but it was great to see our Belgian friends again, family and the concerts.

Suzie and Zack visiting us!

All the way from Nashville, Tennessee, Suzie and her son Zack visited Europe and us.

Arrived at Schiphol airport!

First evening : Enjoying the guitar and the Belgian beers...

Biking in Amsterdam

Boating - tied up under a really small bridge... First and last time I did that, we allmost got run over bij a Canal Cruiser. Luckily Suzie is a good sailor and was very fast to untie the knots before we got run over...

Boating for a day with this boat I borrowed from our friend Clayton made me decide to finally buy a boat for myself after many years!
Suzie was prepared for the weather! I wasn't, that's why we were tied up under the bridge...
 We walked around in Amsterdam...

Our favorite sculpture in amsterdam, the artist is unknown...

Cheesy picture!

Another sculpture from an unknown artist between the bricks in the Red light district

Like the contrast!

Awarded with beers at Westerpark after a long - long tour of Amsterdam.

We went to Kröller-Müller - the best museum of the Netherlands (our opinion and the opinion of the Dutch queen!).

'Kijk uit' or 'Look out' is the name of these stairs made bij Krijn Giezen. Ever since a 17 year old scholar didn't and fell off as a consequence it's been closed unfortunately. I'd have loved to see the view on the top of the stairs!

This nice piece of art is from a Belgian artist - Jan Fabre.
